I decided this past weekend to take a trip over to London for the Mushroom Festival at Carluccio’s in Spitalfields Market. I had to store my little pickaxe in a locker before going through airport security.

My little pickaxe came in handy helping my host family demolish a shed on the property. I’m a bit too small to move the larger stones, but made myself useful working away at the rendering. It was almost too funny when we all broke into the Seven Dwarfs song. “Hi ho. Hi ho …”
Buddha So Funny
He really is quite a stoic character, but once you get him going, Buddha is a veritable sit-down comedian. I’m always in stitches. “Garden gnome who put foot in mouth get athlete tongue.”
Putting the fun in fungus
Though the rain has been oppressive over the Summer, it has helped the mushrooms grow. Mushroom season continues into October and I hope to gather some Agaricus campestris in the next few days. I came across several fairy rings of them yesterday.
