Photo via Katywhumpus I’ve never met a tax and spend gnome, and I’m not sure I ever want to … though I did like this wee, crafty blog Katywhumpus and the story about Tax & Spend. I couldn’t help but admire that stone wall …

Gator and the Garden Gnome
I’m certainly a sucker for animations featuring garden gnomes, and James Burks created this wee animation about a pet alligator and his surrogate teddy gnome. I won’t spoil the ending, but it did turn my stomach. Young garden gnomes beware …
Ahead of the carve
I just love Sarah Caterisano’s wee illustrations, but I was really impressed by the likeness she achieved in this gnome carving. This easily could be my elder cousin Weinhold. It’s all a bit uncanny. There are lots of links to other awfully talented humanfolk to follow as well.
A wee award for my blog
Imagine my surprise to get an award for my gnome ramblings. I humble thank you to Amongst the Oaks for the award. Laura has a great blog which allows me to catch a sunny view of nature even when the weather is dominated here in Ireland by clouds. We certainly know what wellies are on… Continue reading A wee award for my blog
Ground Farce
I’ve only caught a few episodes of Ground Force, but it is safe to say I’d rather have the team work on my garden as opposed to placing statuettes of the team in my garden. However, the wee folks over at Gardeners’ Tips spotted the option should you seek it out. Even better, they posted… Continue reading Ground Farce
Garden Gnomes Party Alright In Space?
I once had a bad dream that I was abducted by space aliens, though they had no resemblance to gnomekind. They certainly weren’t wearing hats. I was reminded of this nightmare after reading this wee post over at Bloghauser.
It takes a village
The wee folks over at The Dirty Disher have highlighted a growing trend of gnomes beginning to gather together again in tightly-knit communities. The gnome village was once a thing of the past with individual gnomes moving in with one-master families. But we are quickly realising the benefits of pooling our labour resources together, particularly… Continue reading It takes a village
Macramé Gnomes?
I end up doing less craft projects in the Spring and Summer because I’m so busy about the garden. The wee folks over at CrafyPod found this lovely book on Macramé Gnomes. Fascinating. I’ll have to try and track it down.
Gnome Dangers
All picture credits to kellypuffs. Thankfully we don’t get these type of snowfalls in Ireland, but poor Norman appears to have been caught in a gnome-sized drift. I assume he was rescued in time before suffering a nightmare fate. Poor lad.
The kindness of strangers
All picture credits go to the wee folks at Cupcake Chronicles. The fine folks over at Cupcake Chronicles appear to be accepting donations for the Save the Gnomes Foundation. I was horrified to hear of the stories they told and the awful but true pictures of gnome torture. With your generous contributions, we can get… Continue reading The kindness of strangers
