Garden Gnome Chomsky

We could have some great chats around the responsibility of intellectual gnomes.

Gnomes Just Wanna Have Fun

It all started when Edgar left his home under the water fountain …

Gnomeo & Juliet

Gnomes appear to be getting the wide-screen respect they deserve in an upcoming Miramax film adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I don’t look anything like Ewan McGregor, but I suppose he’ll do well as the male lead. Kate Winslet. Judi Dench. Music by Elton John. Finally Hollywood appears to have some taste.

Knock meme over with a feather

Thanks, Andie. I actually needed to look ‘meme’ up. I’m not sure which part concerns me more, revealing eight things, or trying to identify eight humans to tag as well. I do enjoy structured activities, so instead of presenting a string of consciousness, I decided to use the questionnaire from Inside the Actors Studio. It’s ten questions, is that OK?

  1. What is your favorite word?
    Toadstool
  2. What is your least favorite word?
    Blight
  3. What turns you on?
A great meal. It’s like alchemy and can be very sensual.
  4. What turns you off?
    Getting stung by nettle
  5. What sound or noise do you love?
Twigs crackling beneath my feet during a stroll in the woods, or perhaps that lovely silence after it snows.
  6. What sound or noise do you hate?
The sound of a shotgun firing. That usually isn’t followed by a good outcome.
  7. What is your favorite curse word?
    Parsnip!
  8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Pilot. I very rarely get a view from the sky.
  9. What profession would you not like to do?
Public speaking of any sort. I’m not good in front of groups of people.
  10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
You can leave your hat on.

The humans and one gnome I will tag:

Ameile Poulain, Bill, CleverGirlBek, Meech!, Nancy, NetGrrl, Nicole and Tacoma Gnome

Game on

I’m not sure how I feel about the game Garden Gnome Carnage. On one hand it offends my pacifist tendencies, and on the other, it is quite entertaining getting back at the populist elves that are slowly taking over the holiday season.

Grab some bricks and whirl the gnome to explosive victory. This holiday, the elves will fly.

You oughtta be in pictures

It was a thrill to be chosen as an extra on a recent film shoot in London.
